relationships
You have mentioned before, Thubten, the importance of getting outside influences from your various comfortable networks to learn, grow and add value. Getting that new contact or two each time is important in that regard.
Another important point is repetition in networking. Showing up, going back and back and back...building sustaining relationships with people you met before.
A mistake I see often (I am sure you see this too) is people going to an event once, or once in a great while when they need something. The result is frustration with networking and lack of results. Worthwhile relationships take time - show up, show up show up.
