Too little experience question......

Hello,
I am a recent grad and I am looking for the next step in my career voyage. I have a marketing degree which is in addition to a photography degree. I have had many different jobs that I find have taught me more than I thought possible, but when I hand over my resume I am given an answer of, “ we are looking for someone with more experience.” Is that a way out of hurting feelings or is it really they need someone who has been in the works for awhile? My question to all of you is:
•Is there a method to putting something on my resume that they will look past the lack of 5 years experience in the marketing world and give a fresh new mind a try?

Recruiters usually have specific positions that they are trying to fill and if you don't meet the job description, they are quick to move on unless you can prove why they should take a risk on a fresh new mind to try. Give it your best shot! In addition to networking with recruiters within a particular company, do a search for local staffing companies that place people like you. Meet them and teach them how to market you. Create Evangelist. This is a good strategy for management within your discipline too - in addition to recruiters.

As far as your resume, have a standard template and bring in specific experiences that talk to the company and position you hope to interview for. In other words, multiple versions. Go in and pitch yourself without resume. More on that in my reply to your question in Personal Branding and Career Strategy

i think you should apply for the position that you are most qualified for. important thing is that, you should also meet their need in an employee.
