    long time unemployment

Going into the fourth month unemployed I am concerned about this fact being against me as I am not working for a percieved long time. I know I am not alone; how do others combat this?

You are not alone and typically a search takes time.

People who do their part networking when they don't need at the moment helps tremendously. While actually unemployed, I have noticed those with open minds about where skills can be applied see more activity. Those who treat a job search like a full time job are prepared and have more activity.

It can take time, but do your part to generate activity that shows you are active in developing and applying your skills. Teach, volunteer, consult...all while marketing your personal brand.

I hope this helps and good luck!

those who work hard find work that is in line with the skills. part-time work and even volunteer work builds opportunity for employment with little gaps on resume.
