    interview skills

Thank you in advance for helping us improve interview skills.
I am getting interviews. My resume is good thanks to improvements from posts on your career forum. I am not getting the the offer? It has to be my interviewing skills.

What can a jobseeker do to improve interview skills?

Acknowledging you could improve your interviewing skills is a great self-aware step. The confidence you can gain from improving interview skills translates into on the job communication skills as well.

Interviewing well starts with being self aware. Knowing what you love, do well and not so well. Being well prepared is another key. The more information and knowledge about the business, industry, trends and person you are being interviewed by the better. Why? You can ask great questions and take control of the interview. This is impressive but takes commitment.

The commitment is usually the difference between a good and not so good interview considering all else is equal.

Practice is key. Interview as much as you can including mock interviews with people willing to help you. Paying someone for their time in trade for a great interview and feedback is a good investment too. Because I feel strong that confident interview skills translate to the job and overall professional growth, consider outside practice opportunities such as Toastmasters, mastermind groups and regular networking.
