    When I was about 4 or 5, my mum and dad would go off to work and leave me with the next door neighbour. She was a hairdresser who worked from home. Her only pacifier for me was Charlie & The Chocolate Factory on VHS. I can't remember the number of times I've watched Charlie and the other 'winners' wander around Mr. Wonka's factory when the unopened doors were opened.

    I've just attended an event in Canberra, Australia for modified car enthusiasts. It was quite an eye opener. Here were a bunch of consumers that for many brands would be perceived as less than desirable. They had a relatively low household income and lived in areas outside of the richer suburbs in Australia.

    However, these people invest a serious amount of their time and income in their passion of cars. Some of the vehicles on show were worth over $200k.
