Friend, I think collaboration is required in the search industry, first an SEO expert must work with their client, building the keyword list, checking with the client’s IT department on SEO accessibility issues, and encouraging the client to write content, or hire a copywriter. But to become really successful an SEO expert must constantly search forums, newsgroups and attend industry meetings to keep up to date on what’s happening in the industry. Otherwise their knowledge and client’s rankings start to fade.

Hi nipa, through my long time experience with “SEO” I completely disagree with you. Because there are many information I collect from it, not only information but also I get solution through discussion. No body can tell that he has knowledge in every side. I personally feel that it’s a way through which people in world can share there culture, knowledge and many other things. If it is so useless, then it could not be run for this long time.

SEO is one of those things that it is easy to be alright at, but it is extremely difficult to be great. You have to do a ton of research and be on top on new internet trends all the time.

I agree that SEO is a job often best left to the pros, but I strongly disagree with the blanket statement that it must be done only be the pros in order to be successful.

As with any business model, it depends on who your target market is. If you are the first in your industry to consider SEO, as a small business owner you will do just fine with the helpful resources that are scattered across the web and can, with a little work, rank quite well organically.

If you have a unique angle to your product in a saturated market and you can build content around specific keywords that your niche uses - then you can do SEO yourself.

As with everything, its all relative to the amount of competition you have and how much time they are spending perfecting their SEO strategy.

If you are in the car, travel or alcohol industry - good luck, hire a great SEO team.
