Default Successful Leader Interviews

My partner Nathan Hart and I are beginning to interview those successful corporate leaders (who are open and willing of course) to see how they got to where they are today. We are looking for referrals and those who have encountered success (on multiple levels) and want to hear their stories!

Why we are seeking to interview those successful executives?
The first and foremost reason is to learn how others have succeeded, in my opinion no matter how experienced you are and how much success you have achieved you can always learn from others, and achieve more. Second, it is always a positive thing to have mentors, those you look up to - this is critical to learning from each other always. Humbling yourself as an executive and learning from others is, in our minds, critical to true success.

If anyone knows of any ideas please let us know, your help would greatly be appreciated! Email me at - jeremy at thestrategicmediagroup.com

Thank you all for your help and feedback!

Default mentor - great idea

I am sure you will find many execs willing to mentor. Are there specific disciplines/industry/company size you are interested in?

I learned invaluable lessons interviewing execs day in and day out during my time as an exec recruiter and will continue as well as being a mentor myself. Having and being a mentor is huge for any career and life. Good for you - I will contact you directly with referrals.

Also, you may try to post this question on LinkedIn Answers > mentoring because you have a lot of contacts and will get a large reply. I would be more specific to get targeted leads here and there.

Default remark about interviews.

some C-level execs I met have being capable of interviewing candidates and detect in a few minutes the right person in fact in a few seconds but let's sound realisitic these have also been my best bosses while the ones who hezitated prooved to be I am here talking about American, Japanese and French CEO's I met. A few years ago, I insisted to worked for someone i did not "feel" so well, although he was trusted by naive but prestigious shareholders from various countries and decided to........ work for myself.

Yes, a great leader is always a great interviewer. In my experience, being self aware and understanding your true environment is a prerequisite.

I think Jeremy is looking to interview executives about their experience so he can learn in his young and promising career/company and give back how he can. An idea I fully support!
