Who Are You? Who Who?

Ok, I'm dating myself. I'm a huge Who fan.

My post here is to encourage you to take the < 5 minutes required to register as a user here on YourBrandPlan.com to stand up and be recognized.

As I cruise the forum posts - particularly the comments/reply area, I see way too many posts by "Guest" and "Unregistered".
The really sad part about that is the content inside these responses is often extremely wise, insightful, and does the one thing that YourBrandPlan asks for - adds value to the conversation.

My good pal and founder of this site, @DavidSandusky has worked 1,000's of hours to optimize the forum to help you get found. 1.2 Million hits in November translates to a hugely popular mainstream site on the web and it's certainly #1 in its category. I've actually had a backroom view of what happens when someone makes a post here. It's like a fly on honey as the spiders grab on to the content - Google, Yahoo, Bing, MSN - they all pounce and index this stuff to the search engines and in micro-seconds it's all out there waiting to be found. I have several "as it happens" Google Alerts and typically within a few minutes, I get a message in my e-mail saying the keywords I'm watching have made it to the "top of the charts".

The magic of being found here lies in two key areas. First, adding keyword rich posts. Make sure that your message contains the words that apply to your topic. If it's about relationships, don't allude to it, say the word relationship in your post. The second and perhaps even more magical is building your signature. Make sure you put keywords about you. Put your website or blog address. The more you post with that information on board, the more the search engines see you as being part of "active discussion" and will boost your rankings in a huge way.

Another magical piece is to use sites like Twitter and Facebook and post a link to your forum entry. Those inbound links will work wonders for you.

I am by no means an SEO expert. I can only speak anecdotally from a personal perspective. I've always had a "signature" here but it was only at David's prodding that I "optimized" it and made it more complete late last month and the traffic and rankings I've seen for myself particularly at www.MarkCrowley.com is nothing short of amazing!

Be part of the discussion. Tell the world who you are and that you have sommething to say. Stand up and be counted!
