One of the most heated issue in the United States right now is health care reform. Everyone I talk to agrees that the current health care system in the United States is broken. Just like the individuals that we elected to represent our interests in Washington, DC, the people I talk to have a broad spectrum of ideas on how to fix the problem.

Not until I became a business owner did the health care issue become relevant to me. For most of my career I worked for an organization that paid for the brunt of my health care costs. I was oblivious that as a business owner my health care costs would dramtically increase. I won't bore you with the details, but compared to what I was spending on monthly health care premiums as an employee for someone else, what I pay now is extreme. I am not complaining, simply stating a fact that many others face too.

As I have written before, I think US President Obama was the first American presidential candidate that developed and then ran on a brand platform. His brand promise included hope and change. In my view, I hope he is successful in changing a system that does not seem to work for anyone. Will his proposed plan, if passed, enhance or dilute his brand? Will President Obama continue to recruit and retain his brand champions?
