How we view ourselves is of utmost importance in every aspect of our lives, including business. Our view of ourselves in our environment impacts how we interact with our peers and clients, our friends and family, and even with ourselves.

The world of personal development overflows with possibilities. Whether we choose to participate with Landmark Education, Tony Robbins, Mind Over Matrix, or one of the Masters of The Secret, like Abraham, we are embarking on a journey of self-discovery. We get to make new daily choices about who we will be, what we will do, and what we will have.

I recently heard something instructive and apropos to the topic of personal development, "The only place that Earning comes before Learning, is in the dictionary." Are we learning all the time? Yes we are. Our environment gives us feedback all day long, but if we are surrounded only by what we already know, we may learn, but we won't grow.

Choosing to learn that which will stretch our understanding of ourselves gives the most obvious results, in that our view of ourselves and the world changes.

I am not sure I have participated in any programs other than ongoing training and maybe I should. In my experience, surrounding yourself with true pros in your field who want to mentor you and challenge you is the best relationship you can have in professional development. Paying for it is required in my opinion if only to value the accountability.

I agree with having the right coaches. Teachers who share experience, but also push you outside of your comfort zone. There is where you learn.
