I can't wait to see what success stories and brand new whatever comes out of the current recession. Businesses are started and a new way of doing things happens for many.

Today I happened to walk right into the press conference for In Denver Times as I left my board meeting with the Center for Innovation. In Denver Times was started by some Rocky Mountain News talent and others who want to keep the recently shut down paper alive in a new media format. They are working hard to create something new and great out of a bad situation (150 year old paper shutting down). I met knew people I did not expect to meet and...opportunity.

Innovation is always created out of recessionary times. I think it is simply because people are more diligent. Not only entrepreneurial ventures by those "finally" doing what they always dreamed, but existing businesses and families learning from their own reality checks requiring change.

Can be scary, I Know, but it is a good thing as well pointed out by The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur in "7 Reasons Why the Recession is Good for You"
