As I study all the different reasons why the state of customer service has declined, a clear answer emerges...
People hate their jobs. They're
the people who shouldn't be answering the phones...
But what boggles my mind is why people continue to stay in a job they hate. I consider it a form of self-abuse to wake up day after day and put yourself through the mental torture of doing something you dislike.
So for those of you who absolutely hate your customer service job, here's a poll for you. If you have another reason other than those indicated below, feel free to leave your reason via a comment below. Note: You can pick more than one answer.
Why do you stay in a job that you dislike?
The pay is good! I like the benefits I don't have the time to look for a new job I don't think I have the skills to do anything else
