Regardless your title and what you do for a living, providing excellent customer service internal and external is your responsibility.
I found this great example of a telephone script that is geared to help call center professionals. Everyone should read this, practice it with your own touch/personality; making sure you cover the bases covered in the script.
Great organizations recognize that time spent in the company call center is a significant part of training for all. Visit the backbone of the organization and where the real learning in taking place. If your company does not provide this or does not have a call center - it is your responsibility to pick up this skill.
