Default Knol = Unit of Knowledge

Google is taking on Wikipedia in the Internet space of public defined encyclopedia content. Credibility is an ongoing issue wikipedia has and Google's 'Knol' has that opportunity in it's sights with the goal of highlighting authors and keep strong standards on who is providing content. There will be competition for ideas in an open platform. Credibility and reputation is on the line - all of this is a good thing!

The beta is simply a web page where invite only guest are contributing content; here is an example:
