Default Custom is King

Existing in a highly service oriented industry - weddings and other social events, I have noticed the demand people have on their service providers for customized services. I do products for the industry that are custom so, yes, I am going to attract more of that demand, but it is in my service provider friends that are driving some of the need my way. They too are offering unique and custom services to an audience that want to stand out from the traditional events.

I am noticing the same in other services and products - to remain competitive, you must customize to your market. Are you seeing the same in your business? How has that changed the way to do business?

So true. We sell baby homecoming announcements and parents contact me frequently looking for custom colors, custom printing, etc. Right now, our stock orders are all we can handle since I'm not an artist, and I can't churn out the type of custom materials some of my customers want. It's too bad, because i feel like I'm missing a big segment of the market!

Looks like an opportunity worth investigating - outsource/hire/partner an artist/designer?!
