With the current economy many brides are looking for ways to spend less on all of the elements for a wedding.* Some splurge on the food, others on the floral or stationary.* There are many ways to do unique wedding invitations without breaking your budget.* In the world of custom invitations - just think less is more.*
Eliminate the excess.
Take out*all of the various layers and mounts - this will add on so much cost, not only for production - but also with labor and materials.*
Keep it simple.
Keep the functionality of the piece simple and use rich,*bold*papers and colors to create a higher end design.* You will use less materials and eliminate specialty work*but still have a beautifully striking design.*
Go for graphics.*
Use floral graphics, damask designs, ornaments and*monograms to keep the piece looking unique to you.* This also gives you an element to place on each piece to carry out a continuing theme and to give*your wedding a very polished look and feel.
Break the mold.*
Think outside of the box with embellishments you could use which will still be unique, but not so costly and hard to work with.* Simple metallic string, lace, paper bands, different colored envelopes, scrap-booking brads, etc.
Cut out the bulk.
Include what you need - perhaps just a reply postcard and information card.* Send your guests to your wedding website for the details.
Splurge on one element.
Decide what you love best and perhaps spend a bit more their.* Maybe you love custom maps or a custom stamp*or a unique material such as a wood veneer, velvet ribbon or a cedar sprig.* You can still*find a way to incorporate the element you love - just keep the rest of the design on the lower cost side.
