How do I communicate I am a leader? Yes, a question that I hear in one fashion or another often enough. How do I become a leader or a better leader are similar questions I am asked.
A leader does not have a title. A leader starts something new and inspires to the unknown - where fear exists. Leaders study, learn continuously, listen to others, mentor, delegate and trust. Leadership is not something you do or tell people. More so a feeling or experience others have -leadership is not a skill - you possess unique skills that make up leadership. Pay attention and grow these.

A simple, yet relevant phrase in response to this great topic.
True leaders act according to their powerful internal compass that navigates their every action to genuinely, authenticly and altruistically inspire, guide and compassionately challenge others to acheive immeasureable results. Leaders are recognized through the good works and results that others achieve as a result of their influence and guidence [this can be communciated]. Leaders make decisions and act in-spite of fear, and popularity, because they are passionately driven to make a difference. They understand that it's impossible to make everyone happy and that they may even upset some people along the way. Yet, they persevere with conviction and an unwavering confidence. This would be a great discussion over a bottle of wine! I could go on, and on, and on... ![]() |

I want to hear more! I have an idea. Let's meet at Capuvino. I will by the bottle of wine and bring the laptop with headsets and we will talk about this subject on my radio show. Then it will be a podcast for others to get in on. What say you?

A leader truly connects personally with the people around him/her and finds out their hopes, dreams, and goals and does everything he/she can to make those become a reality. This means maintaining trust, respect, integrity, and discipline in everything that is done, taking a stand for those things he/she truly believes in and taking personal responsibility when something does not go as planned.

How do I communicate I am a leader? Through my daily behavior! Your behavior should inspire others to do all of the things that great leaders do and to develop their own leadership “behavior”. Simply talking about leadership doesn't accomplish a thing. You need to demonstrate leadership every day.
Once you instill this leadership behavior in others, it burns through an organization like a brush fire. Those who are truly engaged in the success of the company and have a real desire to develop themselves as leaders, will drive others to do so - and so on and so on. At the end of the day, your behavior as a leader should drive one goal: building an “organization of leaders”. |
