Leadership does come in many forms and I think Mary nailed with the word "inspiring" alone. In my experience, inspiring, leading people/company/community/family and cause have a common denominator of love for the end in mind. A vision.
Great leaders have a vision and are able to clearly communicate that vision and live it.
