Default Online Presence

The New York Time Article: For Some, Online Persona Undermines a Résumé
(http://www.nytimes.com/2006/06/11/us...&ex=1150171200)
is a timely reminder that everything we put out in cyberspace can be used to build our personal profile -- even angry "complaints" may be visible.

Is professional guidance available? I suppose the advice never open your mouth in anger can be extended to never touch a keyboard when angry.

Businesses are doing background checks this way, too. Honestly, I don't like this trend, at all. Whoever came up with the idea of going into someone's profile, and writing him/her off just because of his "behavior" must be the most hated person on the planet.

Because now, it makes it harder to network, and do whatever you want online. I once viewed the cyberspace as a wasteland for silly comments, actions, and expressions. People express their anger online, instead of the next bystanding person.

Businesses are being too judgemental by "checking" into someone's profile, and writing them off, just because of the image they want to present to others. There are a lot of people who love to live life to the fullest, exhibiting passion. Businesses forget, that you can't just read a book by its cover. As does judging a person by first impression. Reading a profile does NOT mean that person is this, and that.
