I do know what you mean. A career strategy might include staying put a little longer to accomplish specific goals. That is good character - doing what you say you will do.
It is enticing to accept the quick promotion and pay raise. Even challenging when the company needs you to move on and up quickly. Keep and communicate your goals and be a leader of your own career. Look ahead just a little so to help make these decisions today.

I cannot even tell, situations push buttons. You can change your prospects at the blink of an eye. Sad but true.![]()

"It's a little-known fact that fear of success is just as common as fear of failure."
"Situations push buttons" Yes. The command from the President, head coach and personal brand strategy does not get played out on "the field". The competition and environment have something to say.
This is where vision comes to play - are decisions moving towards the place you want to be? Are you confident to be yourself and stand for your ultimate goals? That is important.

I review my accomplishments and goals often. The beginning of every year is a reality check and I expect to accomplish more in the year ahead. If my title does not change, my job will, I see to it.
Does the average employee attitude about changing jobs shift with market conditions? Meaning fast during rapid growth and slow during market shrinkage.

i agree, but as you have mentioned about the changing markets these days makes a big sense that many professionals tend to change career. i knew someone who is a registered nurse in the phil., worked with her profession for almost two years but lately she ended up as a call center agent. she gave up profession because of money. money really matters!

As long as i get recognition for my work in my company which am working in. I'll switch jobs where i can get it
I've changed careers every 3 or 4 years and expect to that for much of my life. I'm pretty happy with things at the moment but I could see myself losing interest in work for the rest of my life. It's the way that I was raised. Our parents worked at the same places forever but I don't know if that will continue
