Default Amy Tan: "Where Does Creativity Hide?"

Amy Tan is author of The Joy Luck Club and other books. Her talk below "Where Does Creativity Hide?" is a great talk. I appreciate how she brings me back to my identity crisis as a child including trauma - notion of death, a young man and professional.

I appreciate how she added ideas to why I talk about the child in us and living our dreams. About planning while loving the unknown. Finding meaning through chance and choice. Why and how I make things happen. I love this talk - what does it create for you? I hope you share your thoughts of this 22 minute clip.

Default The Potential of "Nothing"

David-
I love this clip... like a book that is chalk full of new ideas and thoughts, I could watch it several times and get something new out of it. The idea that strikes me most right now is that of the potential of "nothing-ness." In Buddhist thought, it is the concept of "emptiness" and in the "emptiness" is ultimate potential. So it seems that finding a way to regularly create some space in our lives (and in our thoughts)--and being comfortable with the non-action and the "nothing"--is one of the most powerful ways to allow for, and embrace, the creativity that fuels all innovation.

Just think... if a water jug is always full, there's no room for fresh water to flow through it, right?

Thanks for a great post.
