I like the video on "A Short History of Marketing". People have been saying for years that they are bombarded with too many advertising messages. With the advent of social marketing the bombardment is just getting heavier.

I think that this is where a good brand (personal or business) has become even more important in one's marketing mix. I heard that the keyword this year is "honesty"

Yes, that word as well as "values" are used widely today. Reminds me when "ethics" was the buzz word after Enron and friends. I did not see a CFO resume or be pitched by senior finance without the word ethics.

"Getting back to" values, honesty and ethical standards might not be authentic, but living values and being honest and ethical has brand value that stands out.
