Brand Stand: Does Your Brand Stand For Something?

People say that “Time is gold.”
I believe in that saying. I think that time is more precious than any treasure thatwe can find here on earth. You can always earn money if you work hard enough. Gold can be bought, and so are other precious stones. You can lose them, but you can get them back. You cannot do the same with time. Once time is spent, you cannot go back to it. You cannot turn back the time nor go to the past. That’s why how we manage our time and the events in our life is important.

Many people are not conscious of managing their time well. I know of a number of people who "in order to appease someone" they sit through meaningless meetings which have lasted long past their purpose; or meetings that happen for the sake of meetings; or that one last meeting to rehash, re-discuss, re-group, review and re-do anything that had been set up before. It is possible that they do not really understand what good time management entails, but there might be more benefits to practicing proper time management than what they think.

Managing your time gives more

For one, good time management will give you a more positive self-image. How you ask? Well, when you have a good
sense of time, you will feel less stressed about meeting deadlines. Your work will turn out a lot better than when you’re pressed for time. When you deliver your work, chances are the person/people that will see your work will be impressed by it and give you a compliment, and sometimes even a reward. The compliment itself will make you feel good and proud of yourself. When you are prompt at meetings, people will think good of you and of course, it will boost your ego. And, when you exude that you stand for something respect often follows.

Time management helps your personal brand

Another benefit of practicing proper time management is that it is good for your personal branding. Remember that in your career, whether you are the employee or the business owner, your personal branding matters the most. If you deliver your services in a way that's passionate and build on your personal strength and skills you will be able to retain your old clients, and hopefully by word of mouth, they will bring more clients to you.

Lastly, good time management preserves your relationships to other people. One of the common problems in any relationship, business or personal, is lack of time for each other. If you don’t manage your time well, you often end up spending time with people "when you need something" instead of making a real connection with them - not dependent on any sort of transaction. Same goes for your children. If you lose time for them, there is a big possibility that they will rebel against you. Or they might even do things that you wouldn’t think they can do, just to catch your attention so that you will give more time to them.

Start by identifying your many roles, your vision, purpose, values and passions - they'll provide the compass to put forth a life management systems that stands for something.
