Is someone who has been in the position that you are in now.


It's either your predecessor. It could be someone who has long left the company yet held the same position, job title or job duties that you have. It could be someone who operated the same type of business that you do. Whether you’re in a company or you’re a solopreneur - it is someone who has done what your doing.

This is the person you can sit down with and say, “Okay, if you could do it all over again, what would you do differently? What would you change exactly? What would you not do?” And learn from their experience. OPE (other people’s experience) is just as valuable as other people’s money.

So that’s your information network.
  • Your six critical connections are:
  • Auditor/policy maker is number one.
  • Speaker/trainer/instructor is number two.
  • Author is three.
  • Four is head of regulatory agency or industry association.
  • Five is a publisher/editor in the industry. It could be a newsletter. It could be a magazine or it could be a blog.
  • Number six is a person who’s been in that position before, a person that held that position in the past.
