Some people rely on others to tell them what to think, like their planners, accountants, heck, even their coaches! Some rely on the kindness of strangers - the ones with the seminars and software guaranteeing your financial survival.

But just because so-and-so said it, does that make it right for you? How do you navigate the maze of media, mail and marketing to find what's financially relevant for your life?

You get curious, that's what. You commit to stepping back and turning a curious eye to what's being said and who is saying it. Not skeptical or condemning - just curious. You set up a system to look at things from several angles and expect the same from your sources.

The truth is, there's no one way to achieve financial success, because everyone's situation is so different. In addition to your commitment to curiosity has to be a commitment of time to sift through the information and investigate your options.

Through it all, have a clear vision of where you want to go. Make that the rod by which all information is measured, and half of what you see and hear will cease to even apply!
