Once Upon A Time...
What would you guess has the biggest influence on a person's ability to succeed financially? Education? Social advantage? The right job?
None of the above. It's our 'money story'; what we tell ourselves is financially possible. Everyone's got one - the people who are winning the money game have a version in their heads that has a happy ending!
This month we’ll look at our “money stories” to see if they serve us in a way we could be ultimately happy with, and write new ones if they don't.
Here are three steps to writing a tale of financial success:
• Let go of the past: It doesn't matter where your story came from, you're an adult and you get to choose how money works now.
• Look at what holds you back: Examine the top two messages about money that get in your way. Re-write them, literally, and start carving the new messages in your brain by reading them every day.
• Get curious: Find one new way each week, for the next 3 months, to be better with money and watch how it changes your results!
You don't have to live by contracts you made in the past that don't work for you today. You're the author of your life - go write the financial version of the 'Great American Novel'!
