Many professionals I meet, when they discover I'm a Financial Success Coach, will ask me, “What do I need to do to make more money?”
I have the distinct pleasure of coaching some very high earners, and rather than ask how much more they need to do to meet their financial goals, they focus on who they need to be--what areas of their personality they need to develop or change to reach greater levels of accomplishment. Now you might think that's easy for someone who has already achieved significant financial success, but each of these individuals has been asking themselves this question since they began their professional journeys--and none of them started at the top. They've been willing to explore the effect of their being on their income from day one, and have continued to do so, no matter how high up they've gone on their chosen ladders. One client in particular, in New York, does an amazing job of continuing to raise his standards in all aspects of his life by asking himself, “What would it look like, and who do I need to be to be outstanding?” For more than a year, I've watched him raise his level of vibration--his sureness and focus--with those kinds of questions, and consequently watched his income skyrocket. Take A Minute: Are you more focused on your doing than your being in looking for more income? Make A Minute: Ask yourself who you need to be to succeed, and pick one action to incorporate immediately toward that goal. Just think what financial doors you can open by raising your standards of presence!

People close to me keep telling me to be myself and "it" will come. Being me is keeping me on a flat line in my career because I am not aggressive at all. I want to progress in my career and know the money will come with the success. I don't know how to ask for what I want?

Hawks - where do you want to be? Try to post what you are wanting to ask for. People often hold back because of fear of rejection...but reject themselves for sure without going after "it"...

Let your boss know you want to contribute more including seeking areas to learn something new. The right reporting relationships will take on the opportunity to mentor you. If you are not getting that kind of support internally, seek mentor ship outside. Start networking internal and external.
Is this going in the right direction? If yes, perhaps seeking mentorship to push you is the one action to incorporate today.
