Default Worried about bloggers dissing your company?

Mark Collier, with Marketing Profs, recently wrote an article titled "Worried About Bloggers Dissing Your Company?". Click here for the article.

It's a great article on how to respond when someone in the "blogosphere" has written something negative about you, your company, your product or service. He emphasizes that HOW YOU RESPOND will set the stage on how everything goes.

I've been blogging since April 2006 and even though my blog generally runs positive type posts - there's always those moments when something is "off brand" on insincerely "positioning their brand" that I would be remiss not to notice. There's been responses from argumentative type emails and even the "hurt, poor little ol' me" reply.

My favorite response is on to one of the toughest posts I ever wrote about a city councilwoman who went against everything "she said" during her campaign and community townhall meetings and ran with the "mob mentality" on a particular issue.

She met with me in person and gave me the biggest hug and said "of course you have every right to your opinion" and continued to say "I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't believe that in my bones". She then asked, "what do you think will help get me back on track?".

Isn't that a WOW response?! I agree with Mark Collier - it really is HOW you respond.
