My RSS Feed, Tom Peters!, is a Thinker and Has Just Posted the Following:
Today is the first day of fall, 2008, though as you all know, the equinox, to quote
Wikipedia, "is the moment in time (not a whole day) when the center of the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 22 each year." That moment occurs/occurred at 10:44 a.m. Eastern time in the United States today. And we've decided that we're going to launch our new fall banner at that moment. Why? Just because. To acknowledge that moment in time when the sun sits directly over the equator, to acknowledge that summer is truly over and a new season (the maple leaves across the street from where I now sit are already changing color) is upon us.
It's also the moment when you can theoretically balance an egg on end. (Which I am trying to do at this moment.)
We hope you enjoy the new banner and all of us here at tompeters.com also wish all of you a bounteous fall season (at least those of you in the northern hemisphere).
