Default TED RSS Feed: XDR-TB events in London and Washington DC

My RSS Feed is a collection of inspirational Thinkers and Has Just Posted the Following:

Casson at the TED Prize Blog tips us off to two events:

XDR-TB Panel in Washington DC tomorrow, Oct. 14: If you live in DC and have an hour at lunch, head over to Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) to view James Nachtwey’s slideshow and participate in a conversation on XDR-TB with Joanne Carter, Executive Director of RESULTS, and Rachel Nugent, Deputy Director of Global Health at the Center for Global Development. It is a great opportunity to see James Nachtwey's powerful photos on a big screen, and hear an in-depth and knowledgeable discussion about TB and how to combat it globally. Details:

12:30-2 p.m., Kenney Auditorium, Nitze Building
1740 Massachusetts Ave., NW
For more information and to RSVP, contact 202.663.5786 or globalhealth@jhu.edu.

XDR-TB Puzzle Hunt in London: To highlight the XDRTB.org campaign, DEMOS and moblog have devised a unique blend of puzzle solving, mobile blogging and geolocation, called GPSdrawing -- using GPS markers to draw a macro image on a Google Map.

DEMOS and Moblog are inviting people to hunt for the 43 objects they have scattered over London and post them to the site. People will create a macro GPS artwork through solving clues to find the objects, photographing them and then uploading them to the site with mapping coordinates provided on the object, and at 43 participating blogs.

Each of the objects contains a letter, and when each marker has been uploaded, all of the letters together spell out a question. The first person to correctly submit the 43-character phrase wins the game; prizes are from Moo.com and include a high-end Nokia phone, as well as two tickets to James Nachtwey’s London launch party on October 30.
